How To Use BRIC

The Brain Research Imaging Centre's resources are available, on a collaborative basis, for researchers throughout to perform imaging and analysis in support of neurosciences research.

This section of the website is designed to help with the process of applying to start a study, including some information which MUST be included in ethics applications and the various forms that should accompany any imaging study.

There is also a section on how to book scans once the application process had been completed and the study is ready to go, as well as how to word the acknowledgement for BRIC and WTCRF when compiling an article for publication.

There is also important information contained in the FAQs section for prospective investigators.

Areas of clinical interest currently include investigation of the pathophysiology of stroke, brain tumours, changes in the brain associated with ageing and psychiatric disorders. These collaborative studies are undertaken using various MR techniques.

If you wish to discuss a possible project using the Centre's resources, please first contact the Scientific Business Manager, Dr Duncan Martin, Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Western General Hospital, Crewe Road, Edinburgh, EH4 2XU.
